We invite you to join us for the 22nd International Symposium of Adapted Physical Activity (ISAPA 2019) to be held 14-18 June 2019 on the grounds of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA.

The theme for ISAPA 2019, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, brings renewed focus to the continual challenges and struggles that individuals with disabilities continue to face around the world for fundamental liberties and rights, including the joy experienced when participating in physical education, recreation and sports activities in their communities with peers without disabilities.

Research presentations, practitioners’ workshop sessions, posters, exhibits and more will explore topics related to the symposium theme over the course of five days. We are especially excited to welcome the following keynote speakers.
Alison Cernich
Director, National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research, Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute for Child Health and Human Development

Tom Frazier
Chief Science Officer, Autism Speaks

David Legg
former President of Canada Paralympics

Micah Mazurek
Director of the University of Virginia’s Center on Autism

Tim Shriver
President of Special Olympics
