ABOUT: This workshop features two dynamic sessions to provide education and recreation professionals with effective strategies for engaging children with disabilities in physical activity.

  • Robert Mages, 2018 Virginia Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the Year, will present strategies to prepare children with disabilities to engage in physical activity and progress their psychomotor skills. Adapting skills to promote active participation will also be discussed.
  • James Gunther, 2016 Virginia Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the Year, will discuss the implementation of assistive technology to engage children with disabilities in physical activity. Learners will review various levels of assistive technology and explore useful iPad apps for increasing the participation of children with disabilities in physical activity.

PARKING: Parking is free, located in the 44/49 lot across the street from the building
