Welcome to EUCAPA 2018 from the European Federation of Adapted Physical Activity (EUFAPA) President

2018 sees the 14th hosting of the European Congress of Adapted Physical Activity, the first time that the conference has been held in the United Kingdom since its inception in 1986. EUFAPA congratulates Ken Black and his colleagues from the University of Worcester for the commitment and enthusiasm that has enabled around 170 delegates from 30 countries to visit England for this biennial event.

EUFAPA exists to foster cooperation and collaboration across Europe in the field of adapted physical activity for the benefit of people of all abilities; to stimulate and support scientific research and the application of these findings in professional practice; and to disseminate knowledge and practical experiences to wider organisations and institutions. Interest groups include education, coaching, sport, recreation and rehabilitation.

EUFAPA also publishes, twice a year, the European Journal of Adapted Physical Activity, an international, multidisciplinary journal, introduced to communicate, share and stimulate academic inquiry focusing on physical activity of persons with special needs.

EUFAPA supports the wider international adapted physical activity network embodied in the International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity (IFAPA).

The European Congress provides the platform for academics and practitioners to share research and good practice. Please take advantage of this opportunity and help to spread positive ideas and strategies that demonstrate the importance and the benefits of physical activity for all.
