A new opportunity is open for research partners to support a project focused on understanding intersectionality in relation to disability inclusion. The objective is to examine how intersectionality is defined and applied in place-based working across the sport and physical activity sector, particularly at the local level.

This initiative seeks to build on existing strategies aimed at reducing inequalities in access to sport and physical activity, especially for disabled individuals whose experiences may be shaped by multiple social factors such as gender, background, income, and location. The research will contribute to the development of more inclusive and responsive systems by identifying effective approaches and examples of successful implementation.

The selected partner will be expected to deliver a clear methodology, demonstrate relevant experience, and provide a timetable and cost breakdown for the project. The insights generated will help improve support for organisations working to create equitable environments for participation in sport and physical activity.

Interested parties are invited to submit accessible proposals in Word, PDF, or PowerPoint format to the Activity Alliance committee. Proposals must be received by 5:00 PM on Friday, 1 August 2025.

Submissions and enquiries should be directed to Helen Derby, Strategic Lead – Programmes, via email at helend@activityalliance.org.uk or by phone at 0808 175 6991.
