The Sport Section of UNESCO is offering two full-time internship positions to support the delivery of key projects and intergovernmental events related to the Fit for Life Global Sport Alliance. This initiative promotes safe, inclusive, and equitable sport and physical education worldwide.
The selected interns will contribute to the coordination of the Fit for Life Sport Leadership Programme, preparations for the Extraordinary Session of the Intergovernmental Committee for Physical Education and Sport (CIGEPS), and additional activities under the Fit for Life framework. The internship offers practical experience in project implementation, partnership development, and global event coordination within an intergovernmental setting.
Key Responsibilities
Interns will assist with:

Planning and coordination of Fit for Life projects, including the AlUla pilot programme in Saudi Arabia.

Development and tracking of workplans, concept notes, timelines, and deliverables.

Organizing internal and external meetings, preparing documentation, and supporting follow-up actions.

Research on potential partners, particularly Member States, athletes, and organizations aligned with UNESCO’s mission.

Organizing global consultations and events such as CIGEPS sessions and Fit for Life policy activities.

Drafting and translating internal documents, speeches, web content, and presentation materials.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should meet the following criteria:

Educational background related to international relations, development, or intergovernmental affairs.

Demonstrated experience in project coordination, event organization, or partnership engagement is an asset.

Fluency in English and French is required. Knowledge of Spanish or Arabic is an advantage.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational abilities, autonomy, and teamwork orientation.
