The 2025 IFAPA Newsletter provides an overview of key activities, partnerships, and developments in adapted physical activity (APA) over the past year. It highlights international collaboration, research dissemination, and regional initiatives supporting inclusive physical activity, sport, and physical education.

One of the main milestones of 2025 was the 25th International Symposium on Adapted Physical Activity (ISAPA 2025), held in Tralee, Ireland, under UNESCO patronage. The event brought together more than 500 participants from research, education, policy, and practice, and included scientific sessions, thematic symposia, a Mental Health Summit, a policy consultation, and a trade exhibition. The ISAPA 2025 Proceedings were released as a fully open-access publication with over 300 peer-reviewed contributions.

The newsletter also reports on IFAPA governance updates, the new Board for 2025–2027, awards recognizing contributions to the APA field, and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Special Olympics International. Regional sections outline APA activities and events across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other regions, along with updates on journals, education initiatives, and resources.

The edition concludes with an international calendar of APA events for 2026 and 2027.

IFAPA looks forward to continued collaboration and active participation in APA activities throughout 2026.
