The Global Partnership on Children with Disabilities, Physical activity and Sport, of which IFAPA is a member of, announces some plans for the first quarter of 2018.

Call for Research Collaborators

The Development of a Global Policy Implementation Framework (G-PIF) to Support UNESCO’s International Charter of Physical Education, Physical Activity and Sport from the perspective of the inclusive policy monitoring, partners are encouraged to engage to collaborate on this research through:

  • Sharing the legislation, national policy strategies on inclusion of people with disabilities.
  • Taking survey/participating in interviews

Upcoming opportunity: Engaging in the ifootie inclusive football

This research initiative aims to understand how community youth sports organizations (that provide recreational football) provide training and support to coaches and to facilitate the meaningful inclusion of children with disabilities into their programs. Once the survey to collect data is developed, the TF members will be asked to disseminate it to youth sport organisations globally.

Expected date of the information sheet and survey: March 12th.

Upcoming opportunity: Influencing the implementation of Kazan Action Plan

Following up on the The Sixth International Conference of Ministers and Senior Officials Responsible for Physical Education and Sport, MINEPS VI, initiative to develop a monitoring tool to track the progress of the Kazan Action Plan is on the way. This will be a great opportunity for the Task Force to provide inputs, ensuring inclusive M&E processes are in place to track the progress for children and youth with disabilities.  .
