The North American Federation of Adapted Physical Activity (NAFAPA) is launching a new three-part Early Career Development Series to support students and early-career researchers in the field of adapted physical activity.

The series will begin on October 23, 2025, with the webinar Pitching on Paper, focused on writing strong personal statements for fellowships, PhD applications, and postdoctoral opportunities. The session will provide practical guidance on how to clearly and concisely communicate research goals, experience, and impact.

The second webinar, Jumping into the Job Market, will take place on November 13, 2025, and will offer an overview of the academic job search process, including tips on preparing application materials, interviewing, and understanding what hiring committees prioritize.

The final session, Dodging the Desk Reject, scheduled for February 5, 2026, will address strategies for academic publishing, including abstract writing, manuscript preparation, and the submission process. Participants will gain insights into editorial decision-making and learn how to improve their chances of publication success.

All webinars will be held virtually via Zoom. Speaker information and registration links will be announced in the weeks prior to each event via NAFAPA’s email updates and social media channels.
