The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has announced Tokyo, Japan, as the host city for the 2027 Paralympic Sport Medicine and Science Conference, which will take place from 5–8 September 2027.

Formerly known as VISTA, the conference is a major international forum for researchers, medical professionals, coaches, classifiers and other professionals working in Para sport. It supports knowledge exchange and collaboration in areas including athlete health, performance and classification, with a focus on translating research into practice.

The programme will include keynote lectures from international experts, invited symposia addressing emerging topics and innovations in Para sport, and peer-reviewed oral and poster presentations.

During the conference, the IPC will also present the IPC Scientific Award, recognising significant contributions to the scientific study of sport for people with disabilities.

The Tokyo edition will continue more than 30 years of the conference bringing together the international Para sport science and medicine community.
