Applications are now open for the 16th Annual Pursuit Awards, an international competition recognizing outstanding research contributions in the field of childhood disability. The awards are organized by the Bloorview Research Institute (BRI) at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in Canada.
The competition is open to PhD students nearing completion of their doctoral studies, postdoctoral trainees, and recent PhD graduates whose research focuses on improving the lives of children and youth with disabilities, developmental differences, or acquired injuries.
Applicants will be evaluated based on academic excellence, research impact, knowledge translation activities, and research productivity. The awards aim to highlight emerging researchers whose work contributes to advancing evidence, innovation, and practice in childhood disability.
Three awards will be presented: CAD $3,000 for first place, CAD $2,000 for second place, and CAD $1,000 for third place. Finalists will be recognized during the BRI Research Symposium, scheduled for November 5–6, 2026.
The application deadline is September 11, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. EST. Researchers from around the world are encouraged to apply and share their work with the international childhood disability research community.
