Adapted physical activity and inclusive sport development were among the topics discussed during the opening day of the European Paralympic Committee (EPC) Policy and Development Hubs, an event focused on strengthening collaboration and capacity building across the Paralympic Movement.
The programme addressed key themes including governance, legislation, inclusion, advocacy, learning, and professional development. Participants also received updates on new initiatives such as the Para Digital Academy, ParaManager, and the Para School Programme, which aim to support education and development opportunities within Para sport.
Among the invited speakers was Patrick Stolpmann, representing the International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity, who contributed to discussions on the role of education, inclusion, and collaboration in advancing participation opportunities for people with disabilities.
The event brought together representatives from Paralympic organizations, universities, and disability advocacy groups across Europe. Other contributors included experts from the European Disability Forum, universities, and National Paralympic Committees.
