The 2025 International Symposium on Adapted Physical Activity (ISAPA) will feature a new series of Spotlight Sessions designed to bring attention to pressing issues, lived experiences, and emerging innovations within the disability and inclusion landscape. These concise 10-minute presentations will be integrated into the keynote sessions, placing key voices and topics at the center of the program.
Spotlight Sessions are intended to inform and challenge, giving space to authentic perspectives, innovative ideas, and critical calls to action. Each session will highlight an individual or organization making a significant contribution to inclusive physical activity and sport.
The Monday session will feature Dr. Tony Bennett, President of the European Disabled Golf Association, presenting on the global development of golf for individuals with disabilities. On Tuesday, Dr. Andrii Vilenskyi from the Superhumans Centre in Ukraine will share how integrated trauma care is reshaping rehabilitation in conflict settings.
Wednesday includes two Spotlights: Adam Harris, CEO of AsIAm, will present on autism inclusion; followed by Gearóidín McTavish from Sport Ireland, who will speak on embedding disability inclusion across sport systems. Paul Walker, representing Primark, will contribute his perspective on workplace inclusion and access to sport.
Thursday will close with Sophie El-Masry of Adidas, highlighting the company’s approach to community-driven product development in inclusive running.
These sessions are designed to inspire, inform, and encourage action among all ISAPA 2025 participants.
