The National Dance Conference – Dancing Without Borders or Limits is an annual adapted dance event in Israel that brings together special education students from across the country. Held under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, the conference represents the culmination of a year-long programme of adapted Israeli folk dance in schools.
The conference provides an accessible environment where students aged 6 to 21, across different functional levels, can perform on stage and participate in a shared national activity. Dance movements and choreography are adapted to individual needs, with wheelchairs, mobility aids and additional support incorporated into performances.
More than 400 students participate in the conferences each year, representing schools from several regions of Israel. Each school presents its own dance before students come together for a large collective dance finale.
The event is free and open to the public, allowing families, friends and the wider community to share an experience centred on participation, expression and belonging.
