Northumbria University’s Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation is inviting applications for a Research Fellow position in Sport and Exercise Sciences. The position is part of a collaborative project titled “Menstrual-related worsening of Multiple Sclerosis: when and why?”, funded by the Multiple Sclerosis Society. The project is led by Principal Investigator Dr. Paul Ansdell.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 36 months, with a salary range of £39,347 to £44,262. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team involving experts from Newcastle Hospitals NHS Trust and South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust.
Key responsibilities for the role include obtaining ethical approval, recruiting participants, leading patient involvement activities, and collecting data through various methods such as questionnaires and neurophysiological techniques. The role also involves disseminating findings through conferences, peer-reviewed manuscripts, and educational materials.
Candidates should hold a PhD, or be near completion, with specialist knowledge in neuromuscular physiology, multiple sclerosis, or female physiology.
