Adapted Physical Activity Quarterly (APAQ) has published Volume 43, Issue 4 (October 2026), presenting new research on participation, performance, health and physical activity among people with disabilities.

The issue includes studies on quality participation in Para sport, co-design of community physical activity programmes for people with moderate to profound disabilities, and sprint performance of Para athletes with coordination impairments according to sex, sport class and competition level.

Further research examines sport and athletic identity among people with physical disabilities, a judo-based programme for adolescents with intellectual disabilities, parent–child physical activity among children with autism, and physical fitness in special schools. Other articles address adapted physical activity service learning, exercise among adults with visual impairments, and the relationship between adapted sport participation and psycho-emotional health.

The issue also includes a review examining the effects of adapted physical activity on focused attention in children with autism spectrum disorder. Together, the contributions provide evidence across sport performance, health, participation, education and community-based adapted physical activity.
