The local organising committee of ISAPA 2023 has confirmed the official dates of the symposium are from Sunday 25th to Thursday 29th June 2023. Details of the opening programme, abstract and registration deadlines are outlined below.

ISAPA 2023 Abstract Submissions Extended

The local organising committee have heard from many of you and understand that you need additional time to submit your abstracts for the 2023 International Symposium of Physical Activity. With this in mind, the local organising Committee have decided to extend the deadline until Monday 20th March at 11.59pm NZT. Submitters will be notified of the outcome during the first week of April.

What kind of abstracts are being looked for? At ISAPA2023, there are opportunities to hear from both academics, practitioners and Allied Health Professionals. That means submissions from individuals who hail from the community sector, as well as our traditional focus on research and academia are especially encouraged.

The program committee welcomes new and original research and/or programs or storytelling for the submission of presentations in the area of adaptive physical activity at ISAPA 2023.

Themes:

  1. Health & wellbeing
  2. Sports performance
  3. Inclusion in education, sport and physical activity
  4. Disability and active recreation, leisure and rehabilitation
  5. Innovation in adaptive physical activity research and practice
  6. Research/programmes outside these themes will also be considered.

Presentation type (as determined by the programme committee)

  • Practical workshop (30 – 90minutes)
  • Oral presentation (15minutes with 5minutes Q&A)
  • Poster presentation during the lunch breaks (5minute presentation with Q&A)

ISAPA2023 Early Bird Registration Extended

Early Bird Registration has also been extended to Sunday 9th April at 11.59pm NZT in line with submission extension. This allows international delegates time to organise flights to New Zealand and accommodation during a busy time in Dunedin’s calendar.

ISAPA2023 Conference Opening Ceremony

ISAPA officially begins on Sunday 25th of June with national ‘Have a Go’ day will be held from 10.00am-2.00pm at the Forsyth Barr Stadium (adjacent to Otago University).
