The European Congress of Adapted Physical Activity (EUCAPA) 2026 concluded successfully in Prague, Czech Republic, bringing together researchers, practitioners, students, and professionals from across Europe and beyond to share knowledge and advance the field of adapted physical activity.
Hosted at Charles University, the congress featured presentations, workshops, and discussions across a range of themes, including physical education, parasport, rehabilitation, leisure-time activities, and psychomotricity. Throughout the event, participants exchanged research findings, practical experiences, and innovative approaches aimed at increasing participation and inclusion in physical activity and sport.
During the congress, the European Federation of Adapted Physical Activity (EUFAPA) held its General Assembly, chaired by President Javier Pérez-Tejero, where members reviewed current activities, renewed leadership positions, and discussed strategic priorities for the coming years.
The closing ceremony included recognition of outstanding contributions to the field. Awards were presented to the congress’s best young researchers, highlighting emerging talent in adapted physical activity research. In addition, Aija Klavina was recognized for her long-standing contribution to adapted physical activity in Europe and her leadership in education, research, and professional development.
At the conclusion of the event, organizers announced that the next edition of EUCAPA will be held in Beitostølen, Norway, in 2028, continuing the tradition of international collaboration and knowledge exchange within the adapted physical activity community.
