Catherine Carty is becoming a new Chair of the Physical Activity and Sport Task Force of the GPcwd. Catherine is the Manager of the UNESCO Chair “Transforming the Lives of People with Disabilities, their Families and Communities through Physical Education, Sport, Recreation and Fitness” at the Institute of Technology Tralee, Co. Kerry Ireland.
Physical Activity and Sport Task Force
For the last three years the PA&S TF did significant work, including the expansion of the national advocacy campaign http://committoinclusion.org/ to the international level, gave opportunity for young people with disabilities to engage as judges in the award, motivated and awarded innovative and inclusive sport initiatives http://committoinclusion.org/innovation-challenge/ as well as identified the links between the SDGs and physical activity and sport.
