The Brazilian Association of Adapted Motor Activity (SoBAMA) has announced the XIV Brazilian Congress of Adapted Motor Activity (CBAMA), to be held alongside the X Seminar on Adapted Motor Activities (SAAMA). The joint events will take place from April 27 to 30, 2026, at the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM), in Manaus, Brazil.
CBAMA is a leading national conference in the field of Adapted Motor Activity, with the primary objective of promoting the dissemination and advancement of research, professional practice, and initiatives developed with and for people with disabilities and other groups with specific needs within Physical Education and related fields. Over its history, the congress has fostered dialogue, collaboration, and partnerships among students, researchers, and professionals working across diverse contexts.
The scientific program will address multiple areas of practice and research, including school physical education, adapted and Paralympic sports, inclusive physical practices, physical activity, health and rehabilitation, art and culture, and professional and teacher education. Activities will include keynote conferences, round tables, short courses, and oral and poster scientific presentations, aimed at promoting knowledge exchange and professional development.
The 2026 edition of CBAMA will be held in conjunction with the 10th edition of SAAMA, a biennial event organized by the Faculty of Physical Education and Physiotherapy (FEFF) of UFAM through the Program of Motor Activities for People with Disabilities (PROAMDE). SAAMA is recognized as a permanent academic initiative within UFAM, contributing to regional and national development in adapted motor activity.
