The University of New Hampshire is now accepting applications for Fall 2026 for its fully funded Master’s program in Adapted Physical Education (APE). This graduate program prepares professionals to support children and youth with disabilities in accessing and participating in quality physical education in K–12 settings. It offers a comprehensive curriculum focused on instructional strategies, assessment, individualized planning, and evidence-based practices aligned with national APE standards.

The program is delivered mostly in-person and includes more than 100 hours of practicum experience, allowing students to work directly with individuals with disabilities to promote motor skill development, physical activity, and overall well-being. Coursework emphasizes collaboration with educators, families, and related service providers, as well as the use of data to guide instructional decisions.

Qualified students receive full funding, which covers tuition, books, and professional development opportunities such as conference participation. The program consists of a minimum of 32 credits and includes a thesis or applied research project as a capstone experience. Career pathways for graduates include adapted physical education, general physical education, educational support roles, adaptive sports coaching, inclusive fitness, and community-based positions.
