UK Coaching, in partnership with UK Sport, is seeking a research partner to examine the factors influencing how and why World Class Programme-funded Paralympic athletes transition into coaching roles. This study will support ongoing efforts to strengthen high-performance coaching systems in the United Kingdom and develop more inclusive, accessible pathways for former athletes.

The project will explore current routes, barriers, and enabling factors shaping these transitions. Findings will inform the work of UK Coaching, UK Sport, and Sport England, contributing to the long-term aim of diversifying the coaching workforce and increasing Paralympic athlete representation in coaching.

The successful research partner will be expected to deliver a mixed-methods study engaging both current and recently retired athletes across multiple sports and classifications. Final outputs will include a full report, executive summary, stakeholder materials, and a formal presentation of findings.
