The IX Congress of Sport Science and VIII International Symposium of Sport Science will take place from 30 September to 2 October 2026 at the Faculty of Physical Education of UNICAMP, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The scientific programme includes dedicated discussion on Paralympic sport, inclusive sport and athlete health, alongside broader topics in sport science. A key session on 2 October, “Performance and Health in Paralympic Sport: Scientific Advances and Practical Applications,” will bring together Prof. Dr. Rafael Lima Kons, Prof. Dr. Andressa da Silva de Mello, and Prof. Dr. Anselmo de Athayde Costa e Silva.
The congress will also address inclusion through the session “Building a More Inclusive Sport: Perspectives from Intersectionality,” with contributions focused on equity, participation and social dimensions of sport.
These sessions place adapted and Paralympic sport within a wider scientific programme that also includes biomechanics, athlete development, mental health, high performance, oral communications and poster presentations.
The event provides an important opportunity for researchers and practitioners to exchange evidence and practical approaches related to participation, health and performance in inclusive and Paralympic sport.
