About the role:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic scientist to join the Vision and Eye Research Institute (VERI). VERI is part of the new School of Medicine. In the latest Research Excellence Framework (REF2014) review, VERI’s profile was rated ‘World Class’, ‘Internationally Excellent’ and ‘International’.

You will work within a multi-disciplinary research team on a project that investigates real world tasks including, balance, gait and mobility in people with vision loss.

You will be expected to handle kinematic data using the Vicon system, write high quality journal papers and apply for additional research funding.

With a PhD in a sports science or other related discipline and having worked on mobility and or balance, you’ll have experience of collecting mobility data on people, writing research papers, data analysis. No formal experience of vision or eye disease is required.
