Bridget Meyer is the Oceania representative to the IFAPA board and she won the  University of Otago Innovation Award for the ‘Accessibel’ app. (Accessible walking tracks around New Zealand | Accessibel | Sensibel)

It was developed alongside the Halberg Foundation. The accessibel app aims to profile the many walkways, waterways and cycleways in New Zealand, to give all New Zealanders up to date information about the accessibility of those sites, including entry and exit points, gradient, surface and facilities.Bridget Meyer Accesibel winner

This will mean that people with impairments, whether temporary or permanent, and even those with other access needs such as families with buggies, will have a one-stop-shop app to see whether their planned outing is accessible to them – encouraging more active outdoor recreation time. Currently  there are a team of re-deployed Franz Joseph and Fox Glacier Ski guides mapping 40 tracks over the West Coast.
