ASSIGNMENT
Background
The candidate becomes a member of the department of Rehabilitation Sciences at the faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Ghent University. The candidate will participate in the academic education program that includes a 3 years Bachelor’s and a 2 years Master’s program of the Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy program and eventually at the Post Graduate Program Psychomotor Therapy for Children. Within the department the IPVK (Institute for the Permanent Training of Physiotherapy) organizes interdisciplinary trainings for professionals in health care and rehabilitation.
Academic education
You will contribute to the Bachelor’s and Master’s program of the Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy program within the domain of pediatric rehabilitation, preferentially in the domain of the mild neuro-motor disorders and psychomotor therapy. More specifically, you will be engaged (as lecturer-in-charge or co-lecturer) in the Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy courses related to the given domains. You are also responsible for supervising master’s theses in this field. Participation in faculty broad education is strongly encouraged An active engagement in educational innovation initiatives is expected and teaching activities are in line with the educational concepts.
Academic Research
You will conduct research in the domain of paediatric rehabilitation and preferably focus on mild neuro-motor disorders.
You will supervise projects in these domain and will contribute to the cooperation with other partners in- and outside the department. You will conduct research in regional, national and international context. You will be responsible for funding application in view of financing research projects, personnel and infrastructure.
Academic services
You participate in the internal and external service activities of the Department of Rehabilitation sciences.
