Free One-Day Conference and Training
The Institute of Technology, Tralee, Ireland, will host a one day conference and training on the United Nations (UN) International Day of Persons with Disabilities, 3rd December 2018
As part of the ground-breaking PRIME project, the conference and training event will be offered for those interested in the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the martial arts. PRIME – Participation, Recreation and Inclusion through Martial Arts Education – is funded by the European Union, and includes the development of a wide range of resources to support positive inclusion.
The event will be of interest to martial artists, sports coaches, and those working with persons with disabilities. There will be presentations from leading scholars and practitioners, including Gudrun Doll-Tepper (Freie Universität Berlin), Richard Bailey (ICSSPE), Ray Sweeney and Dirk van der Merwe (Ikkaido), Lydia la Rivière Zijdel (Lydia Zijdel Foundation), Ken Black (The Inclusion Club), and other experts-
