As of 2017, membership for IFAPA changed from an annual membership to a membership tied to the biennial International Symposium of Adapted Physical Activity (ISAPA).

Therefore, now is a good time renew your membership or to join if you have not joined in the first place, because the longer you wait, the shorter the duration of membership would be.

One of the benefits of being a member is early access to the Newsletter. The current newsletter issue is being sent to members’ inboxes today. The last newsletter issue can be found by clicking on this link – Newsletter_Autumn2018

The most simple way to know if you are a current paid member, that is a member through to the 23rd ISAPA 2021, is whether you attended the 22nd ISAPA 2019 in Charlottesville, Virginia as a professional or student delegate. Attendees of the only the practitioner’s workshop are not automatically members of IFAPA.

Another way to be a current paid member of IFAPA is to have completed the membership registration form and paid the membership through the website and Paypal after 18th June 2019 (the day of the General Assembly at ISAPA 2019). Therefore, individuals who did not attend ISAPA 2019 and have not completed the registration form and paid through paypal are currently no longer members.

For people who are not members, the recommended way to join is to go to the website – https://ifapa.net/join . On this page, there is information about the membership benefits, the categories of members (professional or student) and a link to the online membership application form. Upon completion of the form, there is a link to payment through Paypal. Users should choose between Professional or student membership. Students are individuals who can prove they are still in University up to postgraduate studies, otherwise individuals are classified as professionals.

Some countries currently do not accept Paypal, and if this applies to you, please get in touch and let us know that you are experiencing difficulties in paying through Paypal. Members of the IFAPA board will be in touch about how to proceed with payment.
