You will have a background in physiotherapy, ideally with experience of clinical practice in a range of patient populations. You will have an interest in the use of scientific technologies to support the rehabilitation of patients with a wide range of injuries or disabilities. As a result, you will be able to support in the growing area of research in rehabilitation sciences and biomechanics within the Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation, which has had notable capital investment in the last 10 years. Specifically, you will support the development of both research, knowledge exchange and consultancy in the area of wearable technologies for movement tracking, 3D motion analysis, assessment of muscle structure and function using electromyography and ultrasound imaging, or biomechanical testing more generally.

Working within the Technical Support Team, you will demonstrate complicated techniques of a clinical nature and the use of specialist equipment to undergraduate and post graduate students in support of learning and teaching within the Department with special emphasis on Rehabilitation Sciences. You will assist in the appropriate planning of the laboratory support service and the development of sport, fitness and health testing services offered by the university. You will also support the planning and development of rehabilitation services within the Department and provide supervision of physiotherapy students completing practice placements.
