The 1º South American Congress of Adapted Physical Activity came to a conclusion on the 3rd of December 2022 at the Bio-Bio University in the city of Chillan, Chile. More than 89 registrations, 6 practical workshops, 9 oral and 14 poster presentations were part of the academic activity that meet participants from 4 countries (Colombia, Chile, Brazil, and the USA) with the goal of promoting, and coordinating cooperation throughout South America in research, professional training, service provision and promotion of Adapted Physical Activity.

In the congress, top researchers and practitioners from the region were involved, highlighting the presence of Justin Heagle (USA), Michelle Grenier (USA), Mey Van Munster (Brazil), and Jesus Fernando Kerguelen (Colombia), among others. In addition, general elections were done to select the new directive board for the South American Federation of Adapted Physical Activity which now is composed by:

-Monica Fernandez – Vice-President

-Luiz Santos – Executive Director

-Kevin Campos – Treasure

-Natalia Perez – Secretary
