TOOLKIT4PE.com

We are a team of adapted and general physical education teachers who have collectively created this website for practitioners, specialists, individuals/ families with disabilities, and anybody who would benefit from the use of special education tools specifically designed for the PE classroom and adapted physical activity. Our resources are free and ready to print and use but require a registration and sign-in to access.
Toolkit4PE
The website is categorized into 6 main themes: PLANNING where you will find everything from student information sheets to track important IEP details to behavioral supports to resources to guide you in implementing a peer buddy program; INSTRUCTION where you will find ways to transition through various components of class (beginning, instruction, end), fun greetings, cardio ideas and visuals, visual schedules and so much more! The other categories and resources included in TOOLKIT4PE.com are designed to support POSITIVE BEHAVIOR, to help UTILIZE SUPPORT STAFF, to share adapted ideas for over 25 UNIT SKILL THEMES, to guide IEP GOAL writing and then test knowledge learned through adapted ASSESSMENTS. The website also includes a section outlining APE SERVICES, a Discussion board, and a Connect area for collaborating with YOU to bring your ideas to life!

Review of ISAPA

In the Toolkit4PE ISAPA presentation, there was a guided session with practitioners with a “make-and-take” session, teaching how to put together one of the special education tools called Write-on/wipe-off Board. This can be found under Positive Behavior. Attendees went home with a completed board, two additional printed resources from TOOLKIT4PE.com, and a kit of school supplies to create more of the special education resources included on the website.

Plans for reaching out and working with the community:

The TOOLKIT4PE.com team has been sharing the website through social media, connecting with physical activity websites, and encouraging practitioners to share with colleagues. The team will be presenting this fall; first at Maryland’s then Virginia’s Health and PE conventions. In the summer of 2020, we will be presenting at James Madison University’s Adapted PE Continuing Education Institute. We welcome other opportunities to share our website and hope to build a community of advocates through the TOOLKIT4PE.com Discussion board. We also encourage connecting with us and our graphic design team to collaborate on bringing your ideas to life through the Connect section of our website.
