The Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion (KHP) at Cal Poly Pomona invites applications for the position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in the 2022-2023 academic year.  We are particularly interested in candidates with a specialization in Adapted Physical Education (APE) or closely related area. Cal Poly Pomona is 30 miles east of L.A. and is one of 23 campuses in the California State University.  The KHP department offers two B.S. degree programs (General, with emphases in exercise science, health promotion, or socio-cultural, and Pedagogy) and an M.S. degree in Kinesiology (emphases in Exercise Physiology, Adapted Physical Education, and Curriculum and Instruction). The KHP department also manages the Motor Development Clinic (MDC) which is an innovative academic and research service-learning program where students gain experience working with diverse community members with disabilities.

Qualifications: Possess a doctoral degree in Adapted Physical Education or closely related area by the time of appointment. Demonstrate a commitment to actively engage in teaching, research, and curricular development activities for the department at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Demonstrate a commitment to contribute, teach, and engage in a multicultural environment with a diverse student body (>50% URM). Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills.
