The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has officially announced that the eleventh edition of the VISTA Conference will be held from 7 to 10 December 2025 in Cairo, Egypt. The event is being organised in collaboration with the Egyptian Paralympic Committee and will focus on the theme “Developing Para Sport: Inclusion, Transformation, Health, and Performance.”

VISTA is a leading international scientific conference dedicated to sport for individuals with disabilities. Since its inception in 1993, the event has become a central forum for the exchange of research, information, and practical expertise in Para sport. It brings together sport scientists, coaches, athletes, and administrators to support evidence-based approaches that enhance the development of high-performance sport for athletes with impairments.

This edition marks a continuation of VISTA’s global impact, following previous editions hosted in countries including Germany, Sweden, Spain, Canada, and the Netherlands. The 2021 conference was held virtually, while the 2023 edition was postponed due to scheduling challenges.

The 2025 conference will also include the presentation of the IPC Scientific Award, which recognises outstanding academic contributions to Para sport research. The most recent recipient, Professor David Howe of Canada, was honoured for his work examining the cultural implications of disability in sport.

Information regarding abstract submissions, conference registration, and nominations for the IPC Scientific Award will be released in the coming months.

The IPC has reiterated its commitment to advancing scientific collaboration in Para sport and supporting environments that prioritise athlete development and inclusive sport systems.
