The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Classification department  is recruiting for two classification roles

Classification Compliance Manager/Senior Manager

The IPC Classification Compliance Manager/Senior Manager (subject to experience) reports to the IPC Classification Senior Manager and will be responsible to support the development and lead on the implementation of the IPC Athlete Classification Code Compliance Strategy.

Core responsibilities include:

• Review and support the development of the IPC Athlete Classification Code Compliance Strategy.
• Develop and manage IF and NPC Classification Code Compliance monitoring programme.
• Support the development and manage effective action plans in response to compliance audit discoveries.
• Support any reviews of the IPC Athlete Classification Code and related documents.
• Liaise with the IPC Classification Committee.
• Lead and manage a small team of dedicated professionals (a dedicated co-ordinator and volunteer workforce).
• Be accountable for the work done across the Classification Code Compliance portfolio.
• Develop rapport, establish partnerships, and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to, International Federations, National Paralympic Committees, officials and volunteers, advisory groups, and IPC departments.

• University degree in business management, sport management, law, audit or a similar field, or relevant experience.
• Proven and effective experience in a compliance role or similar.
• Excellent use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
• Ability to occasionally travel internationally.

Desired requirements:

• In-depth knowledge of the IPC Athlete Classification Code and International standards.
• Familiarity with Para sports classification systems.

Para Athletics and Swimming Classification Co-ordinator

The Para Athletics and Para Swimming Classification Co-ordinator reports to the IPC Classification Senior Manager and will be responsible to support the delivery and development of the World Para Athletics and World Para Swimming classification portfolio. Core Responsibilities include:

• Support developing and implementing each sport’s global classification strategy.
• Act as a contact person for classification matters to the respective memberships of each Para sport.
• Assist co-ordinating the international classification calendar and activities at each Para sport’s events.
• Maintain each Para sport’s classification database for all classification and related matters.
• Assist in developing and maintaining classification documents (e.g. rules and regulations, guidelines, and education materials).
• Support the delivery of each sport’s classification education and research activities.
• Support activities for classifier education and (re-)certification.
• Conduct day-to-day administrative activities for each Para sport’s classification operations.
• Assist in departmental activities as required.

Core requirements include:

• Passion for the IPC’s vision, mission and values.
• University degree in sports science with major orientation in biomechanics or kinesiology, physiotherapy or similar, or relevant experience.
• Have a strong interest in scientific concepts and methodologies related to sport-specific classification.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines, operate with limited supervision and multitask in a fast-changing environment, including during occasional weekend work and business trips.
• Able to effectively use Microsoft Office programmes (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Good communication skills and excellent verbal and written command in English (knowledge in other languages is a plus).
• Detail-oriented and meticulous work manner.

Desired requirements:

• Have expertise and/or experience in the field of Para sport.
