COSP13 IFAPA
UN DESA COSP13 Side Event 3rd December 2020

In this session, eight international experts from academia and practice will share best practices, research, and evidence demonstrating how Adapted Physical Activity (APA) helps create inclusive environments, enables the rights of persons with disabilities, and contributes to the CRPD.

Adapted physical activity includes, but is not limited to, physical education, sport, recreation, dance, creative arts, nutrition, medicine, and rehabilitation. The presenters will address adapted physical activity within mainstream and disability-specific settings and will discuss the range of adapted physical activity environments across the inclusion spectrum. The presenters will highlight the impact and outcomes of adapted physical activity and the global relevance for promoting inclusive environments in and through physical activity, recreation, and sport.

The session is hosted by IFAPA, an international scientific organization of APA higher education scholars, practitioners, and students.
